ELECTRICAL REMEDIAL WORKS

SAFETY

On completion of the testing works we provide a free no obligation quotation for remedial works to rectify any faults identified from the condition report to ensure the continued safety of your electrical installation.

On completion of any remedial works an NICEIC Minor Works certificate or an Electrical Installation certificate will be provided.

The purpose of the Electrical Installation Condition Report is not to carry out a fault finding exercise, but to assess and report on the condition of an installation within the agreed extent and limitation of the inspection.

The Electrical Installation Condition Report is broken down into the following classification codes

C1 (DANGER PRESENT)

This code indicates that danger exists and immediate remedial action is required. If a C1 fault is found during inspection and/or testing our engineer will make you aware of the fault and that immediate remedial action is required to remove the danger. This may include appropriate action such as switching off and isolating the affected part(s) of the installation to remove the danger until repairs can be made. The engineer will provide an Electrical Danger Notification Form / Major Defects Form detailing the fault.

C2 (POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS)

This code indicates that, whilst the safety of those using the installation may not be at immediate risk, remedial action should be taken as a matter of urgency to remove the source of potential danger.

C3 (IMPROVEMENT RECOMMENDED)

This code indicates that something has been identified which does not comply with the regulations but is not actually dangerous and improvement is recommended.

FURTHER INVESTIGATION

It should usually be possible for the engineer to attribute a classification code to each observation without indicating a need for further investigation. However, if the engineer considers that further investigation of the observation is likely to reveal danger or potential danger that, due to the agreed extent or limitations of the inspection and/or testing, could not be fully identified at the time. A further examination of that aspect of the installation must be undertaken as a matter of urgency, to determine whether or not danger or potential danger exists.
